Beyond the Masks We Wear

By the Pace with Grace editorial team

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

We all wear masks to hide our true selves. We do it to fit in, to avoid rejection, or to feel accepted.

The problem is, these masks can be suffocating. They can make us feel like we're living a lie, like we're not being true to ourselves.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:16-17

The Bible says that when we're in Christ, we become a new creation. The old is gone, and the new is here. This means we don't have to wear those masks anymore.

It's time to take off the masks and be our true selves. It's time to let go of the need for validation and acceptance from others and find our identity in Christ.

God, help me to take off the masks I wear and be my true self. Help me to find my identity in you and not in the opinions of others. Give me the courage to be vulnerable and authentic. Amen.

When this hits in real life.
